Techniques to treat breast asymmetry

Several techniques can be combined to treat asymmetry:

• Augmentation of the smallest breast, by filling or by prosthesis
• Reduction of the volume of the largest breast
• Redraping to correct the shape of a breast

Whenever possible, in order to perform an augmentation, we prefer to use fat grafting (filling) rather than implants. Filling makes it possible to obtain breasts with a symmetrical appearance and consistency and to avoid the need for repeat operations related to prostheses. Prostheses are necessary if there is not enough fat to collect.

The procedure can be covered by the Health Insurance when the asymmetry is important.
