Dr. Clough reminds us that in 25% of cases, breast cancer remains a fatal disease, so any measure that allows us to detect cancer earlier is an essential measure. Although we have treatments that allow us to cure more and more cancers, the fact remains that the earlier the cancer is detected, the less aggressive the treatment.
France is the country with the highest rate of breast conservation (more than 70% of conservative treatment thanks to oncoplasty).
There is no evidence that certain eating habits are better than others for breast cancer, but fighting obesity and being active have been shown to decrease the risk of recurrence.
Studies do not find a causal link between psychological shock and the occurrence of cancer. Breast reconstructions do not increase the risk of breast cancer recurrence but they do improve quality of life.
